Interview: Filmmaker David Noel Bourke

In this episode: We interview Danish filmmaker, David Noel Bourke. David just received U.S. distribution for his second feature film, No Right Turn. No Right Turn is a "character-based dreamy movie blending film noir, pulp, crime and fantasy". No Right Turn will be released on Dec. 22nd, so buy yourself an early Christmas gift, or add it to your Netflix queue!

David shares some great tips on how to fund your film with a car loan, and how to find the right distributor that fits your film. David is an awesome guy, a talented filmmaker, and I know we'll see great things from him in the future!

|Ep.8 Please Don't Remake...|

In this episode: Titus is joined by Tom Jones… not THE Tom Jones, but this Tom Jones knows more about movies, so it works out. The topic of discussion is films that will hopefully never be remade. Titus and Tom countdown their top 5 films that they pray will never be remade. Due to the long delay on this podcast, we made sure it was extra long.

You can count on future podcasts to be added more frequently, things have been a bit hectic as of late, but are finally starting to cool down
. My apologies to Azazel Jacobs, I did an interview with him a while back that keeps getting delayed, also look for that to be added shortly.

"The McConaughey Lean" Conspiracy

I've been seeing "The McConaughey Lean" popping up a lot lately. Jared showed me that it even made it onto Geekologie, and it looks as though all the credit is going to someone by the name of Aaron Kraus. On his site, a few other people also claim (in the comments section) to have been the first ones to notice the trend.

Now, for the few, but strong, Death to the Movies listeners out there, we all know who originally pointed out "The McConaughey Lean". It's been on our site, at the bottom of the page, for well over a year. I even posted it on twitter back in June.

Sometimes you just have to give credit where credit is due. That seems to be impossible on the internet though, I ran into the same thing with a YouTube video I put together a while back.

"The McConaughey Lean" was actually first spotted several years ago, when I worked at a video store in Seattle, with my friend Eric. We got such a kick out of it that we used to always put "Failure to Launch" and "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" next to each other on the shelf, just to confuse customers.

Anyway, we all know where "The McConaughey Lean" came from, and we will never forget it... ever. So, we here at Death to the Movies are going to take the high road, be the bigger man, and let someone else take the credit for our brilliant discovery. After all, this isn't about us, it's about one of the greatest actors of our time, Sir Matthew McConaughey (pretty sure he was knighted) and the legacy he will leave behind. This isn't about you, Aaron Kraus, you douchebag... so screw you, and your blog, right in your fat, stupid, ugly face.

|Ep.7 Trailer Talk|

In this episode: Titus and Jared talk trailers. A lot of great trailers have come out since taking a break from the podcast, we discuss the films of 2009 we're most looking forward to. Oh, and we talk about who currently tops the Douche List.

This was supposed to have gone up much sooner, but life got in the way. The good news is that we already recorded another episode that should be going up shortly.

Update: The "good news" I referred to above proved to be untrue. Jared never finished editing that podcast, and it just became outdated. I'm getting married in less than a week and things have been crazy, but everything will be back on track soon! - Titus
